Metis/Cree Mother and Artist, Victoria Scattergood
She draws her inspiration from the world around her as well as her lived experiences. Being Metis she has experienced both the realities of being Indigenous, and ‘not Indigenous enough’. Her work speaks mostly of life and love as she breaks the generational trauma of being Indigenous, and the ongoing battle to be seen as human and not an ‘other’ or ‘less than’.
