Bold Mid-century Modern Show Suite
Partnering with Edit Studios, we were tasked with bringing the designer's vision of a bold, mid-century modern-inspired office to life through furniture. The show suite is located in a historic commercial building designed by architect Arthur Erickson in 1965. The 27-storey concrete building is Brutalist in style and stands as a recognizable entity in downtown Vancouver's business district.
Leaning into the 1965 aesthetic, Edit Studios wanted bold colours and a variety of shapes throughout the show suite. We worked alongside them to specify all furniture throughout the space aside from task seating (workstations, ancillary, meeting rooms, dining areas, planters).
Being a show suite, the main goal was to attract a tenant by displaying an eye-catching, modern office while still being functional and move-in ready. This became a success story for the stakeholders (Kingsett Capital, Crestpoint Investments, Reliance Properties) as a lease was signed very quickly after being on the market. This show suite now provides the basis of design for entire additional floorplates on multiple levels of the building. The furniture specification and procurement for these additional suites is currently underway.
