The New Central Library in Calgary is now open to the public. The new design is "a place where people from different groups can come together." Contemporary Office Interiors worked with Snøhetta and Dialog to select each furniture piece to ensure the overall design concept was met. The end design ensured the library's need for items that can withstand heavy traffic was met without sacrificing any element of the design, while allowing for comfort and endless flexibility. The building design and concept was structured after the feeling of a chinook and the surrounding natural environment. Each furniture piece chosen embodies the Alberta landscape while echoing the traditions of great libraries and place of study throughout history.
