Henry Wise Wood High School Collaborative Courtyard Revitalization

Henry Wise Wood was a transformational project where we worked with the CBE in order to repurpose an unused and enclosed parking lot and turn it into a collaborative courtyard.

At the outset, we focused on creating 3 major areas where the students could hang out, eat, and get their school work done. See the above floor plan for initial concept. Initial feedback from the project has been that the principal is thrilled and feels that the courtyard has already impacted their culture in a very positive, integral way.

PROBLEM: Henry Wise Wood had a large and enclosed parking lot that was unused and in need of repurposing. Students were lacking a collaborative and flexible space.

SOLUTION: How do we help them #GetModern? The goal was to inspire a culture that welcomed students to feel at home and work in a space that they could be proud of. This project allowed the high school to create a space that had the same look and feel of a university campus.
